Kavaratti Island — Gateway to Lakshadweep
Kavaratti is the administrative capital and cultural heart of the Lakshadweep archipelago. Located approximately 360 km west of Kochi, this island blends natural splendour with island culture in a way that few destinations can match.
Geography
The island is roughly 5.8 km long and 1.5 km wide, sitting within a stunning oval lagoon of brilliant turquoise water. The lagoon is so calm and shallow in places that you can wade out hundreds of metres from shore.

Marine Museum
A small but fascinating museum documenting the marine ecology of Lakshadweep and the history of the islands' relationship with the sea.
